3/8/2023 0 Comments Gremlin spiral knights![]() Trojan aura has the color of rgb(255,66,255), while Swarm Turret has rgb(255,0,85). Other differences are colors of the auras. According to Grand Faust description, they are fascinated by Gran Faust as a treasure, possibly because of its power, but they are still affectable by curse. The underground is not the fiendish part of clockworks. Here's the link: īefore you ask: Devilites are not connected to the Swarm. TL DR is that knights came to Cradle long before Skylark's crash, and created the kingdom of Almire. For why would knights from Cradle become Almirians, check out Geo148's theory of Almire, it's all explained there already. Maybe they were previous inhabitants of Cradle, maybe of same origin, who ventured too far into the clockworks, possibly coming from Almire. The Phantoms don't have to be knights that came to Cradle on Skylark. It would still be possible to be taken over by it if it's strong enough (closer to the Core, and therefore closer to the Swarm - thats why only deeper located Phantoms can inflict it), or by the Swarm itself, as we can even meet Void Zombies, who are immune to curse. Therefore, more probably the curse shows up after being affected by the Swarm or its energy (for example some part of the Swarm or its energy is locked inside the Faust, therefore applying curse both to wielder and those hit by it). It could be explained simply by having curse to be balanced game mechanic, but lore-wise I have no explanation. Also the change of Phantoms weapons form Fausts to Strikers suggest that it is not working exactly this way. All fiends and undead are also immune, but Devilites and Silkwings aren't, as well as Howlitzers. Why immunity of clockwork monsters is so inconsistent? Battlepods are immune to curse, but other constructs are not. But there is a problem with curse being a way to corrupt the outside world. The Phantoms would possibly be knights who used the Faust for too long and succumbed to Swarm's infection, fighting the uncorrupted ones. It would work similarly to Ing from Metrod Prime 2: Echoes and Aparoids from Star Fox: Assault, all three being able to corrupt both living things and machines alike. This creates a possibility that the curse might be a some kind of infection which spreads the Swarm outside the Unknown Passage. When you are affected by it you can't use some of your weapons and items, otherwise they will harm you. The only difference is that curse icon has three additional lines under it. The curse's icon is very similar to the symbol of the Swarm: a wide open eye. Fausts description mentions that it is "A powerful, cursed sword forged in the underworld." - the underworld of the Cradle being its Core, where the Swarm is locked.Īnother thing that connects both Phantoms and Faust sowrds is the status effect - curse. In addition to that, both swords have the swarm eye on their guards (Gran Faust has even two!). It suggests that the curse is so strong that it cant be controlled entirely. Both Gran Faust and Faust have a chance to apply curse to enemies, as well as yourself. Gran Faust is a heavy sword that can be used by knights. Previously, Phantoms were using Gran Fausts. However, they used to wield different weapons. To attack, they use a purple-colored Striker. Their charge attack can, in deeper areas of clockworks (Tier 2 and 3), apply curse to the knight. ![]() Whenever a knight dares to enter a graveyard, one Phantom will run towards him, ready to fight. The Phantoms have an appearance very similar in coloring to Swarm-based enemies: with their bodies close to pitch-black, heads colored dark-magenta and aura around them glowing with colors resembling Swarm Turrets. They reside in Graveyards, Where Monsters Fear to Tread. But after aa while you may notice that you faced enemies, who look like they are part of the Swarm themselves. TL DR The Curse status effect might be connected to the Swarm, while Phantoms are knights (or previous inhabitants of Cradle) that succumbed to it and joined Swarm's forces.Īll vanguards are (or should be) familiar with the Swarm: dark, evil entity trapped inside the Core, leeking out of it whenever it can. ![]() He asked me to share it with you all, so here it is!ĭisclamer: May contain Spiral Knights spoilers! This is a theory made by my friend, Mecha-Zero-Sion.
