If you are still experiencing lag, try going back to that setting you just changed and play around with the Scaling Mode, Texture Buffer, or even try disabling Canvas Graphic Acceleration completely. By the way, this is a very old thread, Krita has change quite a bit in the last. For editing, there is programs like Kedenlive where you can 'shrink' for speed paints, or else. There are a lot of people with lag issues on Krita, and so far I can not find a single place with a solution. Another option (a good one in fact) is to use a program like OBS, is open source just like Krita, you can record you whole screen or parts of it, save or stream, etc.
